Mike Caird inducted into the Greater Victoria Sport Hall of Fame

Local 324 member Mike Caird, former amateur boxer and coach was inducted into the Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame after many years of service to the sport of boxing in Victoria, BC. The event took place on November 21st, 2009.
It has been a long time coming for an individual involved in boxing to be selected by the committee.
Mike was active in boxing during the 1960’s and laid claim to a B.C. Golden Glove title in 1963. Later he devoted three decades coaching at the Victoria Boys Club, the London Boxing Club and Victoria Athletic Club. Mike also trained fellow UA Local 324 member Donnie Orr who represented Canada in the 2000 Olympics.
